Okay, so here’s a fun one: Who else here has ever been told by a friend or a very confident internet search (thanks, Dr. Google) that your persistent stomach ache is probably just a “cyst in your stomach”? Because apparently, in 2024, every abdominal sensation is immediately a cyst, and that’s how bodies work now.
But seriously, can someone break down for me:
- Is a “stomach cyst” even a thing, or is this just another legend along with “spontaneous human combustion” and “swallowing gum stays in you for seven years”?
- Are people accidentally mixing up ovarian cysts, stomach ulcers, and basically any gas bubble ever?
- If, by a miracle, a cyst could grow in your actual stomach, would it protest by instantly making you lactose intolerant, or would it be more of a gluten-hating roommate?
Genuine question (because I like my organs where they are): How do you actually figure out what’s causing a weird lower-abdominal pain, without going full WebMD and convincing yourself you have something only seen in a 2006 episode of Grey’s Anatomy?
Would love your real stories…or at least your best “my cousin’s best friend’s aunt had this” anecdotes! Also, gynecologists, does your soul leave your body every time someone says “cyst in my stomach”?
